Fence & Gate Installation in Medford, OR
Cedar privacy fences, decorative split rail, and custom gates set on solid posts, built straight and finished fast.
Fences that stay straight
A fence is only as good as its posts. More Life sets posts in concrete at the right depth for Rogue Valley clay, lets them cure, and builds the panels to a string line so the top rail runs true from one end of the yard to the other. Gates get heavy-duty hinges and a diagonal brace so they do not sag. It is the difference between a fence that looks good for two summers and one that is still square ten years on.
Our crews build most residential fences in one to two days. Customers in Medford, White City, and Phoenix have told us the fence and gate went up in a single day with the old one hauled off before dinner.
Fence and gate styles we build
- Cedar privacy fences, dog-ear or capped, 6 ft and 8 ft
- Horizontal cedar and modern slat fences
- Split rail and decorative front-yard fences, stacked or vertical
- Custom walk gates and double drive gates
- Fence on top of a retaining wall, with posts set through the wall base
- Wood stairs, handrails, and deck or ramp railings
- Repair, post replacement, and fence line clean-up

Fence plus landscape, one crew
Because More Life is a landscape contractor first, a fence project rarely stops at the fence. We clear and grade the fence line, remove old concrete footings, add a retaining wall where the grade drops at the property line, and plant or mulch along the new fence so the finished yard looks complete. One quote covers all of it.
Materials and finishes
Western red cedar is our standard for privacy fences: naturally rot-resistant, straight-grained, and easy to stain. We use pressure-treated posts, galvanized or stainless fasteners, and can stain or seal the finished fence on request. Split rail comes in cedar or treated pine, and we can mix wood with welded-wire panels for pet-safe front yards.

Fencing & Gates Questions
Question 1How much does a cedar privacy fence cost in Medford?
Price depends on length, height, style, gate count, and whether the old fence needs removal. We quote per project after a free site visit and the written price includes posts, concrete, hardware, and haul-away.
Question 2Do I need my neighbor’s permission to build a fence?
Not legally, as long as the fence is on your property. We recommend confirming the property line, and a quick conversation with the neighbor usually makes the project smoother. Many neighbors split the cost of a shared fence.
Question 3Are there height limits for fences in Jackson County?
Most cities in the Rogue Valley allow 6 ft in back and side yards and limit front-yard fences to around 3 to 4 ft. Corner lots have sight-line rules. We check the rules for your city before building.
Question 4Can you build a fence on top of a retaining wall?
Yes. We set the posts through the wall base or use a wall system designed for fence posts, so the fence is anchored properly instead of sitting on loose block.
