Sod & Artificial Turf Installation in Medford, OR

A new lawn done right: dead grass out, yard leveled with fresh topsoil, irrigation tuned, and sod or synthetic turf laid tight with clean edges.

Real sod, installed the right way

Laying sod on top of a bad yard gives you a bad yard with sod on it. More Life strips the dead grass and old backfill, removes the junk underneath, regrades for drainage, and brings in screened topsoil before a single roll goes down. We level meticulously, roll the sod, check sprinkler coverage, and finish with rock or metal borders so the edges stay clean. Several of our customers in White City and Medford mention that we wheelbarrowed everything through a narrow side gate because machinery would not fit. We still did it by hand.

Artificial turf for yards that need to stay green

For dog runs, play areas, shady spots where grass will not grow, or homeowners who simply do not want to mow and water, we install synthetic turf over a compacted, free-draining base with proper seaming and infill. Modern turf looks realistic, drains fast, and handles Medford summer heat without a drop of irrigation. One of our reviews calls it a “forever yard,” and that is the goal.

Sod vs. artificial turf in Southern Oregon

Sod is cooler underfoot, cheaper up front, and feels like a real lawn, but it needs regular water through summer and weekly mowing. Artificial turf costs more to install, then costs almost nothing to keep: no water, no mowing, no brown patches in August. For most families the right answer is a smaller real lawn where you actually use it and turf or water-wise planting everywhere else. We will give you honest pricing on both.

FAQ

Sod, Lawn & Turf Questions

Question 1When is the best time to lay sod in Medford?

Spring and early fall are ideal because mild temperatures let roots knit in before heat or frost. We install sod through summer as well, with a tighter watering schedule for the first two to three weeks.

Question 2How soon can I walk on new sod?

Keep foot traffic off for about two weeks while roots establish, and water daily (more in heat) during that period. After the first mow, around week three, it is ready for normal use.

Question 3Is artificial turf safe for dogs?

Yes. Pet-rated turf with a permeable backing and antimicrobial infill drains urine quickly and rinses clean with a hose. It also eliminates muddy paws and dug-up lawn.

Question 4Do you fix drainage before installing a lawn?

Always. Standing water kills sod and makes turf squishy. We regrade, and where needed add French drains or catch basins, before the lawn goes in.
